Intel is preparing Arc Pro based on Battlemage with 24GB memory at Computex

Intel has recently teased upcoming updates to its Arc Pro series, which will be powered by the new Battlemage graphics architecture. These GPUs are aimed at the professional workstation segment, targeting workflows such as AI development, 3D modeling, and content creation. While specific details haven’t been shared yet, more information is expected soon, likely during Computex in the coming weeks. One of the major anticipated upgrades is the introduction of higher VRAM variants, including 20 GB and 24 GB models—effectively doubling the memory of current offerings like the Arc Pro A60, which features 12 GB of VRAM. This would significantly enhance performance for memory-intensive workloads.

In addition to more memory, the new Arc Pro GPUs will benefit from architectural improvements brought by the shift from Alchemist to Battlemage, leveraging Intel’s Xe2 architecture. This change promises better performance, efficiency, and expanded capabilities for AI-related tasks. There are also indications that Intel could introduce a new high-end SKU based on the BMG-G31 GPU, which features a 256-bit memory bus and a higher core count. This would mark a notable step up from the mid-range BMG-G21 variants, which use 192-bit and 160-bit configurations.

These updates signal Intel’s continued investment in its Arc GPU lineup, particularly for the professional segment. Alongside the hardware, improvements in the software stack, such as better driver support and certification for industry-standard creative and engineering applications, are expected. If Intel delivers competitive performance and pricing, its Battlemage-based Arc Pro cards could pose a serious challenge to AMD’s Radeon Pro and NVIDIA’s RTX A-series GPUs. As Computex approaches, more details are likely to emerge, shedding light on Intel’s strategy in the high-performance workstation graphics market.
