S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition will be available May 20, 2025 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on GOG, Epic Games Store, and Steam. The new versions bring a host of graphical improvements, including enhanced lighting with godrays, screen space reflections, advanced shaders, upscaled textures and environments, and pre-rendered 4K cutscenes to enrich the narrative experience. However, the extent to which console players will experience these upgrades depends on the graphics mode they choose.
Players using PS5, PS5 Pro, or Xbox Series X will have four graphical modes available: Quality (4K at 30fps), Balanced (4K at 40fps), Performance (4K at 60fps), and Ultra Performance (2K at 120fps). On Xbox Series S, the options include Quality (2K at 30fps), Balanced (2K at 40fps), and Performance (1080p at 60fps), with none offering native 4K. Meanwhile, PC players have the freedom to manually fine-tune graphics settings based on their hardware and can also look forward to optimizations for the Steam Deck and support for cloud saves.
The Enhanced Edition also introduces several new features across platforms. Both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will support keyboard and mouse input, expanding control options beyond the traditional gamepad. In addition, console players will now gain access to mods via Mod.io, enabling a level of customization previously limited to PC users.
Perhaps the most appealing aspect of this update is that it’s free for existing owners. Anyone who has already purchased any of the remastered titles from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy will automatically receive the corresponding Enhanced Edition at no extra cost, making this upgrade both substantial and accessible.
