NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 has officially been released, but without reviews and tests

RTX 5050 series

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050, a GB207-based desktop GPU with 2560 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory, launched 1st July, ahead of NVIDIA’s initial “second half of July” timeline. it’s the only desktop GPU in the Blackwell series using older GDDR6 instead of GDDR7, a choice NVIDIA hasn’t fully justified, potentially impacting its appeal. The card targets entry-level 1080p gaming with medium-to-high settings, featuring 5th-gen Tensor Cores, 4th-gen Ray Tracing Cores, and DLSS 4 support for enhanced performance. It has a 130W TDP, requiring a single 8-pin PCIe connector and a 550W PSU.

Despite the launch, no reviews are available, limiting performance insights. Early benchmarks suggest it performs close to the RTX 4060 but falls short in real-world gaming compared to synthetic tests, making it a modest upgrade over the RTX 3050.

Inno3D and other partners confirm stock is hitting shelves, particularly in China, where availability precedes Western markets. Western retailers may list cards soon, but pricing could be a concern, as the RTX 5060, with 50% more CUDA cores and GDDR7, starts at $299, potentially overshadowing the 5050 if not sold at MSRP.
