OneXPlayer has announced the OneXGPU Lite, a new external GPU (eGPU) solution powered by AMD’s Radeon RX 7600M XT, bringing high-performance graphics to handheld gaming PCs and compact systems. This sleek, portable eGPU introduces Thunderbolt 5 support, offering unprecedented bandwidth for enhanced gaming and productivity. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting release.

The OneXGPU Lite builds on the success of its predecessor, the OneXGPU, which was one of the first eGPUs to feature the Radeon RX 7600M XT. What sets the OneXGPU Lite apart is its adoption of Thunderbolt 5, a significant upgrade over the OCuLink interface used in earlier models. Thunderbolt 5 provides up to 80 Gbps of bandwidth, a substantial improvement over Thunderbolt 4’s 40 Gbps and OCuLink’s 64 Gbps. This increased bandwidth ensures smoother data transfer and improved performance, particularly for high-resolution gaming and creative workloads.

While specific details about the OneXGPU Lite’s dimensions and weight are yet to be confirmed, early images suggest a refined design compared to the original OneXGPU. The new model appears to prioritize improved cooling, addressing one of the challenges of compact eGPUs. Despite its portable form factor, the OneXGPU Lite maintains a stylish enclosure with active-fan cooling and RGB lighting, a signature feature of OneXPlayer’s products.

The OneXGPU Lite is expected to retain or enhance the original’s features, such as an M.2 2280 SSD slot for expandable storage. There’s also speculation that it may support PCIe 4.0 or even PCIe 5.0 for faster SSD performance, a step up from the PCIe 3.0 interface in the original model. These upgrades make the OneXGPU Lite a versatile companion for mini PCs, laptops, and handheld gaming devices like the OneXPlayer.
