AOOSTAR Unveils XG76XT: A Powerful External GPU with Radeon RX 7600 XT and Dual USB4/OCulink Connectivity

AOOSTAR launches XG76XT external GPU with RX 7600 XT and Dual USB4/OCulink interfaces

AOOSTAR launched its innovative XG76XT external graphics card enclosure, featuring a desktop-class AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT. Priced at approximately $470 USD in China (3,399 yuan with a regular retail price of 3,499 yuan), this external GPU (eGPU) solution is designed to boost graphics performance for laptops and compact PCs, offering a compelling blend of portability and power.

Unlike many eGPU solutions that rely on mobile GPUs, the XG76XT incorporates a full desktop Radeon RX 7600 XT, equipped with 32 Compute Units (CUs) based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture and 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory interface. While AOOSTAR has downclocked the GPU to a 150W TDP (compared to the standard 190W), it maintains an impressive 2,470 MHz game frequency, ensuring robust performance for gaming and productivity tasks. This makes the XG76XT ideal for users seeking desktop-level graphics without the bulk of a traditional PC setup.

A standout feature of the XG76XT is its dual connectivity options, supporting both USB4 and OCuLink interfaces. The USB4 port operates over PCIe 4.0 lanes, offering faster data transfer rates than older eGPU solutions that rely on PCIe 3.0 tunneling. OCuLink, with its 64 Gbps bandwidth, provides even lower performance overhead, making it the preferred choice for systems that support it. This flexibility ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices, from modern laptops to mini PCs with OCuLink ports.

Additionally, the XG76XT includes a USB4 port with 100W Power Delivery (PD), capable of charging connected devices, though AOOSTAR recommends powering peripherals autonomously to maximize bandwidth for the GPU. The enclosure also supports multiple high-resolution display outputs, including one HDMI 2.1 port, two DisplayPort 2.1 ports, and one USB-C port with 15W PD support, making it suitable for multi-monitor setups in gaming or productivity environments. The external GPU is currently out of stock and does not have a confirmed release date.
