Assetto Corsa Rally Unveiled, Set to Launch in Early Access on PC This November

Assetto Corsa Rally, the first rally racing game in the Assetto Corsa series, was announced by publisher 505 Games and developer Supernova Games Studios in partnership with KUNOS Simulazioni. It is set to launch in early access on PC via Steam on November 13, 2025, marking the second Assetto Corsa release of the year following Assetto Corsa EVO’s early access debut on January 16, 2025. The game expands on the series’ sim racing foundation by focusing on rally-style racing, utilizing an adapted version of KUNOS Simulazioni’s physics engine tuned for uneven surfaces, jumps, variable road conditions, dynamic weather, and realistic vehicle behavior across diverse terrains. Development incorporates Unreal Engine 5 for high fidelity and performance, alongside laser scan technology to accurately reproduce real-world terrain, road irregularities, and environmental details like vegetation in every rally stage.

At early access launch, Assetto Corsa Rally will feature 33km of fully laser-scanned real-life roads, 4 Special Stages with 18 variants set across gravel roads in Wales and tarmac roads in Alsace, 10 iconic rally cars including Group B, WRC, and Rally2 vehicles, and 5 game modes with triple screen support. The full 1.0 version, with no specified release date, will expand to include six additional special stages, a full roster of 30 vehicles, new game modes such as career mode and rally school mode, and VR support. Gameplay emphasizes simulation aspects like racing against the chronometer rather than real-time AI opponents, enabling advanced physics, mechanical behavior, and tire models on different surfaces.

Supernova Games Studios director Maura Notarberardino highlighted the team’s development with input from drivers, engineers, collectors, mechanics, and industry experts to address the lack of modern rally simulators, crediting KUNOS Simulazioni for preserving the series’ driving model. KUNOS Simulazioni co-founder Marco Massarutto noted that fan requests for a rally title have persisted for years, explaining the dedicated approach required to leverage rally discipline’s unique elements, such as resource-efficient chronometer-based racing to enhance physics simulation. The announcement included a short teaser trailer with in-game footage showcasing the rally racing approach. This release comes amid a gap in sim-focused rally games, following Codemasters’ pause on WRC and rally titles after their EA partnership ended post-EA Sports WRC 23, with Nacon now developing a new WRC series but not yet ready for release.
