Colorful has recently showcased prototypes of several new AM5 socket motherboards optimized for overclocking (OC) AMD Ryzen processors, including the Ryzen 9000 series and future generations. These designs address long-standing demands in the AMD ecosystem by incorporating features like external Base Clock (BCLK) generators for real-time clock adjustments and dual-DIMM layouts for enhanced memory stability at extreme frequencies—capabilities previously more common on Intel platforms. The lineup was displayed at events in China, targeting enthusiasts with improved VRMs, high-speed DDR5 support, and modern I/O. All boards promise BIOS updates for broad Ryzen compatibility.

The X870E Vulcan stands as Colorful’s flagship AM5 motherboard, designed with a dual-DIMM (1DPC) memory configuration for high-frequency overclocking. It comes equipped with a reinforced VRM powered by dual 8-pin connectors, five M.2 slots, and a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot featuring a quick-release mechanism. For enthusiasts, onboard OC buttons and a compact status display provide additional tuning flexibility. The showcased model sported a sleek black finish, though a white variant is likely, in line with past Vulcan releases.

Colorful also unveiled its new B850M CVN ARK motherboard, an mATX design that brings a host of upgraded features. It boasts a strengthened VRM for more robust power delivery, support for DDR5 memory speeds exceeding 8000 MT/s across four DIMM slots, and the latest connectivity options including Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5GbE LAN. Additional highlights include an EZ-release PCIe slot and, most notably, an external clock generator enabling real-time BCLK adjustments. Finished in a striking white theme, the board combines strong performance with standout aesthetics.

Lastly, Colorful introduced the iGame X870 SENNA Edition, an anime-inspired white ATX motherboard built on the AM5 platform. It delivers full support for AMD Ryzen processors, ships with an updated BIOS, and is ready for upcoming Ryzen CPU generations. Feature-wise, it aligns with what you’d expect from a premium ATX AM5 offering, and its design closely resembles the CVN X870 ARK Frozen model we previously reviewed.

Pricing is still being finalized, though the B850M ARK is expected to debut at around 1,300 RMB (under $200). Meanwhile, launch timing and pricing for the X870E Vulcan remain unconfirmed.
