Corsair Unveils Updated XG3 Hybrid Waterblock for GeForce RTX 5080 and 5070 GPUs

Corsair’s XG3 RGB Hybrid water block features a raised cooling design that combines a copper cold plate and internal channels to manage heat from both the GPU and memory. A small integrated top-mounted fan actively cools the PCB and VRMs, allowing the cooler to sit above the graphics card without making full contact with all components. This elevated design increases compatibility across a wider range of GPUs compared to traditional full-contact water blocks.

The XG3 integrates with Corsair’s iCUE LINK ecosystem (requires a system hub) for streamlined power delivery, RGB lighting control, and system monitoring. It comes pre-applied with thermal paste and memory thermal pads, and is designed to work with Corsair XL coolant and the iCUE software suite for real-time temperature and lighting management.

GPU compatibility includes a variety of RTX 50-series models such as the RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 from brands like ASUS (TUF/Prime/ROG Strix/Dual), MSI (Ventus/Gaming Trio/Vanguard), Palit (GamingPro/GameRock), Zotac (SOLID/SOLID CORE/AMP Extreme), PNY (Triple Fan/EPIC-X), INNO3D (X3/Twin X2), Galax/KFA2 (EX Gamer/1-Click OC), and Gainward (Phoenix/Phantom). However, it does not support the RTX 5090, NVIDIA Founders Edition cards, or most Gigabyte models due to incompatible mounting layouts. Be sure to consult Corsair’s full compatibility list before purchasing.

The XG3 RGB Hybrid is priced at $179.99 on Corsair’s website and around $154 on Amazon. While it’s not cheap—especially considering it doesn’t include the rest of the liquid cooling loop—it could be a practical upgrade for users already invested in Corsair’s ecosystem and looking for seamless iCUE integration. Just make sure to verify with your GPU manufacturer whether removing the stock cooler voids your warranty.
