Elden Ring Nightreign New Trailer Unveils Fast-Paced Co-op and Roguelike Thrills

Elden Ring: Nightreign is a new co-op spin-off game coming out on May 30, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It costs $40 for the standard version and $55 for the deluxe version with extra content. The game is set in a parallel world and is a roguelike survival action RPG, where players take on fast-paced battles in sessions that last around 35–40 minutes.

The map is a reimagined version of Limgrave, now called Limveld, and it changes each time you play—enemies, items, and events like meteor strikes or shrinking danger zones (called Night’s Tide) appear randomly. Your goal is to fight your way through and defeat powerful bosses known as Nightlords.

You can play solo or with up to three players (but not two, for balance reasons). There are eight characters to choose from, called Nightfarers, like the strong Guardian or the quick Duchess, each with their own special abilities and team combos. Players can revive each other, level up easily at Sites of Grace, and use relics to improve their skills. The game also adds wall-running, gliding, and no fall damage to make movement more fun.

Although the story is simpler, you can still learn about each Nightfarer’s past through memory fragments and personal missions at a place called the Hidden Roundtable Hold. Some fans complain it reuses too much from the original Elden Ring, but early previews praise its fast action, replayability, and new ideas—even though opinions are mixed about the co-op limit.
