The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was officially released on April 22, 2025, marking a significant return for the beloved 2006 RPG. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios in collaboration with Virtuos, the remaster is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (via Steam and the Xbox App), and Xbox Cloud Gaming. It’s also accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing cross-play between Xbox and PC platforms.




The remaster, rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5, brings a stunning visual overhaul featuring high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting, and improved visual effects. These upgrades create a more immersive experience while staying true to the game’s original charm. Gameplay has also seen significant improvements, including refined combat animations with responsive hit feedback, a new sprinting mechanic, and a reworked third-person perspective inspired by Starfield. Additionally, a hybrid leveling system has been introduced, blending elements from both Oblivion and Skyrim to enhance character progression. On the audio front, the remaster adds new voice acting alongside the original recordings, assigning unique voices to each race to deepen the narrative experience. To round out the package, all original DLCs including Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine are included, offering players a comprehensive and enriched return to the game’s expansive world.
