GALAX Unveils GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti HOF Gaming Series

GALAX has unveiled its GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti HOF Gaming series, marking the brand’s first venture into offering Hall of Fame (HOF)-branded graphics cards on the global market. Unlike the high-end HOF and HOF OC Lab models previously exclusive to China, such as the RTX 5090D, 5080, and 5070 series, the new HOF Gaming series targets a broader audience with slightly toned-down specifications and a distinct “Gaming” branding.

The HOF Gaming series diverges from the China-exclusive models in several key ways. For instance, the RTX 5080 HOF Gaming boasts a boost clock of 2775 MHz with GALAX’s 1-Click Xtreme Tuner Plus software, falling short of the 2805 MHz offered by the China-only HOF OC Lab Deluxe Edition. Similarly, the RTX 5070 Ti HOF Gaming reaches a boost clock of 2625 MHz, positioning it as a slightly lower-tier option compared to its Chinese counterparts. Both cards feature NVIDIA’s GB203 GPU architecture, with the RTX 5080 equipped with 10,752 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR7 memory at 30 Gbps, while the RTX 5070 Ti offers 8,960 CUDA cores and 16GB at 28 Gbps. The absence of detailed board power specifications, including maximum limits, leaves some questions unanswered about their overclocking potential.

Design-wise, the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti HOF Gaming cards are nearly identical, sporting a triple-slot cooler, a 35.4 cm length, and a choice between striking black or classic white color schemes. The cards feature a vapor chamber-equipped cooler, black gold inductors on likely identical PCBs, and a single 16-pin power connector, differing from the dual 16-pin setup on the China-exclusive RTX 5090D HOF. A notable point of confusion surrounds the ARGB-lit HOF Crown, an attachable element prominent in Chinese models. While official images of the HOF Gaming series omit this feature, product descriptions and accessory lists suggest its inclusion, possibly referring to a lower component or an optional add-on. The iconic OC button, a staple of HOF designs, remains present, alongside a full-coverage backplate with a diamond-like pattern and vibrant RGB lighting.

Historically, GALAX’s HOF lineup, including the flagship RTX 5090D, has been confined to China, with global availability limited to third-party retailers charging exorbitant prices—often double NVIDIA’s MSRP. The HOF Gaming series, however, signals GALAX’s intent to bring its premium branding to a global audience, albeit with slightly reduced performance compared to the OC Lab variants. The black and white PCB options maintain the HOF aesthetic, blending sleek design with robust cooling solutions tailored for gamers and overclockers. Yet, the lack of review samples and retail listings raises questions about the series’ immediate availability, leaving enthusiasts reliant on GALAX’s global website for updates.
