Gigabyte Leak Reveals AMD Ryzen 9000G Series for AM5 Socket

It appears that an official global debut for the much-anticipated AMD Ryzen 9000G APUs could still be planned for later this year. While expectations were high for an announcement at Computex 2025, followed by a widespread retail release, AMD remained notably silent about its processors during the technology trade show. However, recent developments suggest that Gigabyte is gearing up its B650 motherboard lineup to support the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000G APUs.

On the memory compatibility page for Gigabyte’s B650 Gaming motherboard, references to Ryzen 9000 series CPUs have been replaced with mentions of Ryzen 9000 G-series CPUs. It’s uncertain whether this update implies that the same memory compatibility list will cover both the Ryzen 9000 and 9000G CPUs, but it seems likely. Those rumors also indicated that the Ryzen 9000G APUs would combine AMD’s Zen 5 CPU cores with RDNA 3.5 integrated GPUs, with the top-tier iGPU expected to handle lightweight games and e-sports titles effectively. Currently, the iGPUs in recent AMD Ryzen CPUs are primarily designed for basic video output and troubleshooting, whereas the G-series APUs are tailored for systems that don’t rely on a discrete GPU. It’s plausible to anticipate that AMD will introduce at least one model in the Ryzen 9000G APU lineup featuring the Radeon 890M, which is also found in some of the most popular Windows gaming handhelds available today.
