GIGABYTE has officially launched its GeForce RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G GPU, a compact yet powerful addition to NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell-based RTX 50 series. This entry-level graphics card is designed to deliver impressive performance in a small form factor, making it ideal for compact PC builds like ITX systems. With a unique triple-fan cooling solution, GIGABYTE ensures efficient heat dissipation without compromising on space, setting a new standard for low-profile GPUs.

The GIGABYTE RTX 5050 OC Low Profile measures just 182mm x 69mm x 36mm and occupies a dual-slot design, making it a perfect fit for small chassis. Despite its compact size, the card features a triple-fan cooling system, a bold choice for an entry-level GPU with a 130W TDP. This custom cooling solution includes a copper base for the GPU and an aluminum base for the memory, connected by heat pipes to a finned heatsink for optimal thermal performance. The design ensures faster heat dissipation, allowing the card to maintain stable performance even in confined spaces. While some may argue that three fans are overkill for a 130W GPU, GIGABYTE’s approach prioritizes cooling efficiency and longevity, particularly for users building compact gaming or creative workstations. The card also supports a quad-display connector layout, featuring dual HDMI 2.1b ports, one DisplayPort 1.4a, and one DisplayPort 2.1b, ensuring versatile connectivity options without sacrificing functionality.

Built on NVIDIA’s GB207 GPU, the RTX 5050 OC Low Profile comes equipped with 2,560 Blackwell CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 20 Gbps, and a 128-bit memory bus. The card supports PCIe 5.0, offering future-proof compatibility with modern systems. While exact clock speeds for this overclocked (OC) model are not yet disclosed, the reference RTX 5050 boasts a base clock of 2.31 GHz and a boost clock of 2.57 GHz. As an OC edition, GIGABYTE’s variant is expected to offer slightly higher boost clocks for enhanced performance.

The GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G is set to hit store shelves in the second half of July 2025, alongside other RTX 5050 variants from partners like ASUS, MSI, and ZOTAC. With a starting price of $249 for the reference model, the GIGABYTE OC edition may carry a slight premium due to its enhanced cooling and factory overclocking. NVIDIA recommends a 550W PSU for systems using this GPU, aligning with its power-efficient design.
