Lian Li Announces Platinum Certified SX PSU Series

Lian Li has officially launched its SX Platinum series of power supply units (PSUs), marking the company’s expansion into high-efficiency power components for PC enthusiasts and builders. The series debuts with three models—SX0850P at 850W, SX1000P at 1000W, and SX1200P at 1200W—available initially in black with white variants planned for a subsequent release. Each PSU achieves 80 PLUS Platinum certification, delivering up to 94% conversion efficiency at 50% load to minimize heat generation, reduce electricity costs, and promote quieter operation. Fully compliant with Intel’s ATX 3.1 standard, these units feature a native PCIe Gen 5.1 12V-2×6 connector capable of supporting up to 600W for next-generation GPUs, along with the ability to handle power excursions up to 200% of rated output for stable performance during demanding loads; the 1000W and 1200W models additionally include a 12V-2×6 to dual 6+2-pin PCIe adapter cable for enhanced compatibility with a wider range of graphics cards.

The SX Platinum PSUs adopt a fully modular design with flexible, braided-texture cables equipped with combs for superior cable management and aesthetics, including ample PCIe connectors—up to four on the 850W model and five on the higher-wattage variants—plus dedicated SATA and peripheral options. Internally, they rely on 100% Japanese 105°C-rated capacitors from brands like Rubycon, Nippon Chemi-Con, or Nichicon, paired with a single high-amperage +12V rail to ensure low ripple, stable voltage, and reliability under extreme conditions. Cooling is managed by a 120mm fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) fan with a maximum speed of 2000 RPM and an innovative Zero RPM fanless mode that activates up to 40% load for silent operation, which can be toggled on or off via a rear-mounted switch; the fan itself boasts a minimum lifespan of 100,000 hours at 25°C under 75% load. The compact 140mm-depth ATX form factor (measuring 150mm wide by 86mm tall) fits seamlessly into a broad array of cases, including smaller builds like the O11 Vision Compact mATX, while the embossed mesh housing enhances airflow and visual appeal.

Comprehensive industrial-grade protections are built-in, covering over-power (OPP), over-voltage (OVP), short-circuit (SCP), over-current (OCP), over-temperature (OTP), under-voltage (UVP), surge input protection (SIP), and no-load protection (NLP), safeguarding components during power fluctuations or faults. All models support active power factor correction (PFC) with efficiency greater than 0.90 under full load at 115VAC and 60Hz, and they operate on a universal input of 100-240VAC at 50-60Hz, drawing 6-12A for the 850W and 1000W units or up to 14.8A for the 1200W. Backed by an impressive 10-year warranty, the SX Platinum series positions itself as a premium, future-proof choice for high-end gaming rigs and workstations. Pricing starts at an MSRP of $119.99 for the 850W model, $149.99 for the 1000W, and $159.99 for the 1200W, with availability beginning November 13, 2025, through select retailers and the Lian Li website.
