Nioh 3 is the thrilling third entry in Team Ninja’s dark fantasy action RPG series, developed by the acclaimed Koei Tecmo studio and set for release on February 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC. Building on the intense combat and yokai-slaying action of Nioh and Nioh 2, this game takes players on an epic journey through Japanese history, battling demonic creatures across eras like the Heian, Sengoku, Edo, and Bakumatsu periods. You play as Tokugawa Takechiyo, a customizable hero who starts defending Edo Castle in 1622 from a yokai invasion and transcends time—guided by the guardian spirit Kusanagi—to alter fate and claim the title of Shogun. Along the way, you’ll cross paths with legendary historical figures like Hattori Hanzo, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Yagyu Munenori, weaving myth and history into a gripping tale of heroism.

The minimum requirements for the game include a 64-bit processor and operating system with Windows 11, along with an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (6 cores / 12 threads) or higher. You’ll need 16 GB of RAM and a graphics card such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB VRAM or the AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (Rev. 2.0) with 6GB VRAM. The game requires DirectX 12, a broadband internet connection, and 125 GB of available storage space on an SSD, as performance may suffer on slower drives. A 48000Hz 16-bit stereo sound card is needed, and a multi-channel memory configuration is recommended. With these minimum specs, the game is playable at 1080p and 30 fps on the ‘Lightest’ graphics preset with upscaling, and frame generation is supported. It also fully complies with Windows 11 system requirements.
For the recommended requirements, the game still requires a 64-bit processor and Windows 11, but suggests using an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6 cores / 12 threads) or higher, paired with 16 GB of RAM. Recommended graphics include an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB VRAM or an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT with 12GB VRAM. DirectX 12, a broadband connection, and 125 GB of storage are required, with an NVMe SSD recommended for optimal performance. A 48000Hz 16-bit stereo sound card is again required, and multi-channel memory is recommended. With the recommended setup, the game is playable at 1080p and 60 fps on the ‘Standard’ graphics preset with upscaling, and also supports frame generation. This configuration also meets all Windows 11 system requirements.
