NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 announced with 8GB GDDR6, Starting At $249 & Launch In Mid-July

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 announced with 8GB GDDR6, $249 price, launching mid-to-late July

NVIDIA has officially launched the GeForce RTX 5050, a new entry-level GPU in its Blackwell-based RTX 50 series, targeting budget-conscious gamers and creators. Available for both desktop and laptop platforms, the RTX 5050 features 2,560 CUDA cores, 8GB of VRAM, and a 128-bit memory bus. Desktop variants use GDDR6 memory at 20 Gbps, while laptop models leverage faster GDDR7 memory at 24 Gbps, offering improved bandwidth and energy efficiency.

The GPU, built on the GB207 chip, supports advanced features like DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, fourth-generation RT cores for ray tracing, and fifth-generation Tensor Cores for AI-driven tasks. With a base clock of 2.31 GHz and a boost clock up to 2.57 GHz, the RTX 5050 delivers up to 60% better raster performance and 4x faster performance with DLSS 4 compared to the RTX 3050. It has a 130W TDP for desktops, requiring a single 8-pin PCIe connector, and a 100-115W TGP for laptops.

NVIDIA has not confirmed the exact release date (some rumors suggested July 1st), but the official launch window is set for the second half of July. The price is set at $249. This GPU fills a gap in NVIDIA’s lineup, competing with budget options like Intel’s Arc B580, though its 8GB VRAM may limit future-proofing for some modern titles.
