Palit Launches GeForce RTX 5050 StormX with 8GB GDDR6 and Compact Single-Fan Design

Palit has introduced its first GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card, the StormX, tailored specifically for small form factor (SFF) systems. Measuring just 169.9 mm in length, this compact single-fan GPU delivers the full performance of NVIDIA’s latest chip, despite its modest power profile. The StormX is available in two variants: one adhering to NVIDIA’s reference specifications and a factory-overclocked model for enhanced performance. Equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit interface, the card operates at 20 Gbps, providing a bandwidth of 320 GB/s. It features a base clock of 2317 MHz and a boost clock of 2572 MHz, supported by 2560 CUDA cores.

The GeForce RTX 5050 StormX is designed for efficiency, with a Total Graphics Power (TGP) of 130 W, requiring only a single 8-pin power connector. Palit recommends a system power supply of 550 W to ensure stable operation. The card’s display outputs are robust, featuring one HDMI 2.1b port and three DisplayPort 2.1b connectors, capable of supporting resolutions up to 4K at 480 Hz or 8K at 120 Hz with Display Stream Compression (DSC). Despite its compact two-slot design, the StormX incorporates advanced cooling technologies, including 0-dB fan technology for silent operation under low loads, DrMOS power design for improved efficiency, and composite heat pipes for enhanced thermal performance.

While Palit has not yet disclosed pricing for the GeForce RTX 5050 StormX, its compact form factor, modern connectivity, and efficient cooling make it an appealing choice for builders of small yet powerful gaming or workstation PCs. The combination of NVIDIA’s latest architecture and Palit’s engineering ensures that this card delivers reliable performance for space-constrained systems without compromising on modern features.
