PUBG: Black Budget is an upcoming tactical extraction shooter developed by PUBG Studios (also known as PUBG Corporation) and published by KRAFTON, Inc. The game redefines the extraction shooter genre by emphasizing exploration and discovery over pure survival and combat. Set on the mysterious island of Coli, which is trapped in a time loop caused by a supernatural phenomenon called the Anomaly, players take on the role of “Contractors” in a classified black-budget operation named SAPIENS. They must navigate PvPvE threats, recover top-secret technology, and uncover the truth behind the island’s secrets, all in a first-person perspective (FPP-only) experience built around tension, survival, and the unknown.
KRAFTON announced the game’s first external Closed Alpha Test on November 21 or 22, 2025, providing players with their initial hands-on opportunity on PC via Steam. The test consists of two public sessions over six days: Week 1 from Friday, December 12, 2025, at 01:00 PST to Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 23:59 PST, and Week 2 from Friday, December 19, 2025, at 01:00 PST to Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 23:59 PST. It is available exclusively to PC (Steam) players in North America, Europe (including CIS), and Asia, with support for English, Korean, Chinese (presumably Simplified or Traditional), and Russian languages. Players outside these regions may join via Drops keys, but network stability could be suboptimal. To participate, players can apply starting from the announcement date through the PUBG: Black Budget Steam store page, where invites are distributed randomly via Steam Playtest notifications and email—check status on the page regularly.
